At Carrum, we live and breathe the mission of transforming the healthcare system to create an unmatched experience for patients. If you are passionate about changing healthcare and want to finally get rid of surprise bills, poor quality, and high prices, while thriving in an entrepreneurial, cutting-edge environment, we would love to connect with you.

In 2014 Carrum reinvented the Center of Excellence (CoE) category in digital health. We are the only company in this space with a digital platform and mobile app powering this novel marketplace. Today, most of the US population lives within a 3 hour driving distance of a Carrum CoE and our providers rank in the top 10% nationally. Our team’s execution has been recognized by the venture community and we’ve raised more than $50M in aggregate from investors like Tiger Global Management and Wildcat Ventures. Our impact has been externally proven in a 2021 RAND Corporation study and featured as a Harvard Business School (HBS) case study.

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Data Science & Analytics to shape our company's data-driven decision-making. This role will report to the Chief Technology Officer and be responsible for leading a team of data analysts and scientists. The ideal candidate is someone who has a prior record of managing teams, executes company-wide data strategy, and loves the intensity of a high-growth startup.

This is a full time position, the salary range for this role is $200,000 - $230,000 plus bonus, depending on level of experience and geographic location.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Provide thought leadership and act as a subject matter expert in the design and recommendation of appropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing key issues within the business.
  • Lead the team to propose and execute on data science initiatives and roadmap. Define best practices and innovations in the analytics and healthcare data space.
  • Manage and mentor a stellar Data team by fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous development to deliver on the roadmap.
  • Effectively communicate complex analytical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define KPIs and develop dashboards and reports to track and measure performance against these metrics.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to establish and implement robust data governance policies and procedures for security, privacy, and compliance
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to cross functional stakeholders based on data analysis, helping them make informed decisions and drive business growth.
  • Master the ins-and-outs of our healthcare datasets, develop creative solutions to diverse questions that span data processing, reports and model development for both internal and external stakeholders.

We’re excited about you because…

  • At least 7 years of experience as a data professional with demonstrated experience managing and leading a high-performing data team.
  • A track record of designing and executing data science roadmap and delivering data products and insights that influence engineering and business decisions.
  • Expertise in programming/scripting languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R), statistical and analytical models and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing analytics strategies in the digital health environment and familiarity with healthcare data. Having worked with data in e-commerce, consumer tech, B2C, or membership-experience based business will be considered.
  • You can strategically build and manage the team but have no problem rolling up your sleeves and getting in the weeds while doing so.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while balancing competing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communications, including the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful — As an early member of a startup, we need people who can find creative ways to make a big impact quickly and without much direction.
  • Experience handling deadlines, keeping many balls in the air, and prioritizing work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for collaborating cross-functionally with sales, operations, client success, data, and product teams to ideate, complete projects, and drive impactful results.

You’ll work with talented, experienced co-workers from companies like Booz & Company, Livongo, 98point6, Google, and Optum. We believe in using data to inform decisions, technology to make our jobs easier, and creative thinking to pave the future.
