At Carrum, we live and breathe the mission of transforming the healthcare system to create an unmatched experience for patients. If you are passionate about changing healthcare and want to finally get rid of surprise bills, poor quality, and high prices, while thriving in an entrepreneurial, cutting-edge environment, we would love to connect with you.
In 2014 Carrum reinvented the Centers of Excellence (COE) category in digital health. Today, 90% of the US population lives within 50 miles of a Carrum COE and our providers rank in the top 10% nationally. Our team’s execution has been recognized by the venture community and we’ve raised more than $96M in aggregate from investors like OMERS, Tiger Global Management and Wildcat Ventures. Our impact has been externally proven in a 2021 RAND Corporation study and featured as a Harvard Business School (HBS) case study.
The Clinical Operations Specialist 2 is an essential driver of our daily clinical delivery. In this "Developing" stage of our career ladder, you handle a variety of factors to resolve problems of moderate scope. You are moving beyond strictly following a manual; instead, you exercise judgment within defined clinical procedures and practices to determine the most appropriate action for our patients.
You are responsible for managing your own workflow efficiently, anticipating potential clinical delays, and proactively adjusting priorities to stay on track. You act as a bridge between internal teams and external providers, building productive relationships that ensure seamless care delivery. You operate under firm direction but take ownership of your daily execution and the quality of the clinical data you manage.
The salary for this role is $50.48/hr depending on geography and level of experience, plus equity and an annual bonus.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...
Optimize Clinical Workflows: Identify inefficiencies in medical record processing and intake protocols. You will recommend practical solutions and document process updates to share learnings with the team.
Exercise Clinical Judgment: Apply sound judgment within established procedures to determine the appropriate next steps for patient scenarios that aren't "black and white."
Build Trusting Relationships: Build relationships with peers and external partners, adjusting your communication style to ensure clarity, trust, and alignment.
Support Clinical Compliance: Help document compliance-related tasks and support audits or checklists to ensure Carrum meets all HIPAA and clinical safety standards.
Collaborate for Team Success: Contribute to a positive team dynamic by sharing updates clearly and tailoring information for your specific audience.
Mentor through Feedback: Integrate feedback into your daily habits and take full ownership of your development, sharing your growth and learnings to support your peers.
We’re excited about you because…
You typically bring 2+ years of experience in clinical operations, nursing support, case management, or healthcare administration.
You hold a degree in a clinical field (RN, BSN, etc.) or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
You anticipate patient and team needs and take initiative to support them. You use empathy to guide your tone, timing, and operational decisions.
You flex your approach when new clinical challenges arise. You recover quickly and support your team when things feel "messy" or unclear.
You treat every patient and teammate with patience and respect, centering the "human side" of healthcare in your daily work.
You ensure diverse voices are heard and credited, and you actively check for bias in your actions and decisions to ensure equitable patient care.
You have a knack for troubleshooting, synthesizing imperfect information into actionable insight, and creatively solving problems.
Deep commitment to HIPAA, clinical quality standards, and handling sensitive medical information with the highest integrity.
You receive predetermined work assignments and manage them with a moderate level of control, ensuring every clinical detail is handled with precision.
