Civitas Learning is seeking a Usability Analyst. As a Usability Analyst, you will be the advocate for a seamless and intuitive experience across our entire product. You will evaluate all new features to ensure they meet our high standards for usability, from fundamental interactions to complex, intelligent systems. A central part of this role involves humanizing our powerful AI capabilities and testing how they are integrated into core user workflows. Your user-centric expertise will ensure that our entire product, including its AI-driven core, is effective, cohesive, and easy to use.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead comprehensive usability evaluations across the entire product, with a specific focus on our AI-powered features and their outputs, to ensure clarity, effectiveness, and ease of use from a customer perspective.
• Design and execute various usability studies, user interviews, and A/B tests to gather qualitative and quantitative user feedback on user behavior and sentiment.
• Analyze research findings and translate complex user insights into clear, actionable recommendations and design requirements for our Product, Engineering, and Design teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners throughout the development lifecycle to champion user-centered design principles and ensure new features are intuitive, transparent, and trustworthy.
• Define, track, and report on key user experience metrics (e.g., task success rates, user satisfaction, AI-related error rates) to measure the effectiveness of the user interface and build a continuous feedback loop.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of usability standards and best practices, with a special emphasis on developing guidelines for human-AI interaction.
• Proactively identify, document, and track usability defects and unexpected AI behaviors from a user experience perspective, collaborating with technical teams on their timely resolution.

Experience & Qualifications:

• A portfolio demonstrating experience with usability testing processes and summarizing research findings.
• 1-3 years of experience in UX research, usability testing, or a similar role, with demonstrated exposure to AI/Machine Learning products or features.
• Solid grasp of UX principles and a strong understanding of when to apply various qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in designing and executing usability studies using modern tools(e.g., UserTesting.com, Lookback, Qualtrics).
• Ability to synthesize qualitative data (interview transcripts, open-ended feedback) and quantitative data (usage analytics, A/B test results) into actionable, evidence-based insights.
• Basic understanding of design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma) for reviewing design artifacts and contributing to wireframes.
• Familiarity with product analytics platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Google Analytics) to inform research questions and measure the impact of UX improvements.

Other Skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a particular talent for dissecting complex and ambiguous user interactions, especially those involving AI.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effectively working with diverse technical (software engineers) and non-technical (product managers, clients) teams.
• High degree of empathy for users and meticulous attention to detail in testing and observation.
• Proactive in identifying potential user experience issues and proposing innovative solutions.
• Strong curiosity and a continuous learning mindset for emerging AI trends and UX best practices.
