Role Overview
As a trusted finance advisor to a SaaS business, you will support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow modeling, and strategic FP&A initiatives. You’ll collaborate with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive financial performance, scalability, and long-term value.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Deliver high-quality financial reports and dashboards (monthly/quarterly/annual) aligned with GAAP/IFRS and SaaS metrics (MRR, ARR, CAC, churn)
- Perform variance and trend analysis to provide actionable insights to leadership teams.
FP&A, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Design and configure robust financial planning models (annual/rolling forecasts, scenario analysis, cohort-based forecasting)
- Help clients build budgets aligned with SaaS levers such as customer acquisition cost, churn, and upsells.
Budget Reconciliation & Close Support
- Guide month-end and quarter-end processes, reconcile general ledger and SaaS-specific accounts (deferred revenue, contract liabilities).
- Advise on intercompany and balance‑sheet reconciliations; recommend improvements to close workflows and internal controls.
Strategy, Pricing & Business Partnering
- Partner with product, sales, and growth teams on pricing strategy (MRR/ARR optimization, segmentation); model the financial impact of strategic choices.
- Provide finance-led recommendations for operational efficiency, cash flow forecasting, and churn mitigation.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition in SaaS contexts, support SOC 2/GDPR requirements where relevant
- Identify financial and data-related risks, propose mitigation strategies.
Tools, Process & Technology Enablement
- Support configuration or implementation of finance systems, dashboards, and automation processes.
Experience & Qualifications
- 4–8 years experience in management consulting or finance advisory, with SaaS clients preferred. Exposure to FP&A, finance transformation, and strategic planning
- Strong understanding of SaaS economic model and metrics: ARR, MRR, CAC, churn, CLTV.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, scenario planning, and variance analysis using Excel or other relevant tools/dashboards.
- Proficiency with the Sage Intacct accounting platform.
- Familiarity with accounting standards and compliance: GAAP, internal controls, audit readiness.
