Cloud Engineer
Lineage
Primary Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor and analyze existing AWS environments, identifying opportunities to optimize performance, improve reliability, and reduce costs, then drive implementation of improvements.
- Partner with application and development teams to recommend, guide, and implement managed AWS services and serverless architectures that support business objectives and accelerate delivery.
- Serve as a mentor and technical leader, coaching engineers from different teams, fostering skill development, and driving knowledge sharing across the engineering organization.
- Stay current with the latest AWS services, emerging technologies, and industry best practices, advising on adoption strategies to maintain a cutting-edge platform.
- Create and deliver high-quality technical assets, including best practice recommendations, tutorials, sample code, and technical presentations, tailored to both engineering teams and key business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain documentation outlining workflows, processes, and architectural designs to ensure clarity, consistency, and maintainability. Collaborate closely with stakeholders and business leaders to interpret requirements, align cloud strategies with business goals, and drive forward-looking platform initiatives.
Technical Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 2 years focused on AWS. Azure cloud is a plus
- AWS Expertise: Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, AWS Organization, etc.). AWS certification (Solutions Architect or similar) is a plus.
- Cloudformation: Strong experience automating infrastructure using CloudFormation.
- Security & Networking: Proficiency in AWS security and networking (VPC, subnets, VPN, security groups, etc.).
- Cost Management: Proven experience optimizing AWS environments for performance and cost.
- DevOps: Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps principles.
- Coding and Code Management: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) and familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- MLOps: Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, automated testing on machine learning model deployment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in system administration and troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of data center monitoring tools and methodologies
- Experience with data center best practices and industry standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
