KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, train, coach, and develop high-performing teams
Provide ongoing performance feedback to drive productivity and engagement
Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Lead within a unionized environment, partnering effectively with union representatives and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
Operational & Financial Performance
Deliver on critical KPIs including Labor to Revenue (LTR), truck turn times, and customer service standards
Analyze warehouse activities and costs to identify process improvements
Manage budgets, capital expenditures, material handling equipment, and space utilization
Drive bottom-line results through strategic planning and execution
Business Growth & Customer Focus
Partner with Sales to support marketing and new account strategies
Participate in prospecting, sales calls, rate development, contract negotiation, and closing
Strengthen customer relationships and ensure service excellence
Safety & Quality Excellence
Champion food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
Support proper receipt, storage, handling, and distribution processes
Ensure employee health and safety in both cold and dry storage environments
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)
4+ years of Operations Management experience in Supply Chain or related field
Strong experience managing in a unionized environment (highly preferred/required)
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic and annual operational plans
Strong financial acumen and cost management expertise
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing operational teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Strong communication skills — able to present technical information to diverse audiences
Analytical mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity
