Ammonia Refrigeration Technician
Lineage
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems, including performing preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on motors, wiring, electrical components, and machinery while following electrical codes and safety standards.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on facility equipment and building infrastructure.
Maintain and repair material handling equipment and other operational machinery within the facility.
Complete assigned work orders and accurately log all maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
Document inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment performance and communicate updates to leadership.
Assist with additional maintenance tasks and projects as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
Support and monitor contractors working on or around refrigeration systems to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Safely operate motorized lifts and equipment when performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
What We’re Looking For
Ammonia refrigeration experience required (industrial refrigeration systems such as ammonia, Freon, or CO₂).
Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance experience with motors, wiring, and electrical components.
At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in warehouse, manufacturing, processing, or industrial environments (or equivalent trade school training).
Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems in automated environments preferred.
Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) is a plus.
Basic electrical instrumentation knowledge.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable using maintenance tracking systems and basic computer programs (Word, Excel).
Work Environment
Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments, including freezer areas as low as -20°F and warmer areas up to 100°F, while wearing company-provided protective gear.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. or more, depending on the facility.
Flexible schedule availability including weekends when required.
Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels.
Some locations may require working at heights.
