Location: Lineage – Peterborough
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off Days 06:00-18:00
Salary: £14.38 per hour, plus a weekly shift allowance of £20.00. Paid Monthly.

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Crane Controller / Automation Process Controller at our fully automated Peterborough depot.
This role is central to ensuring the smooth and accurate movement of stock within an automated warehouse environment.
You will be responsible for controlling automated systems and warehouse management systems (WMS), coordinating stock movements, and supporting yard and driver activity. The role is fast-paced and varied, involving regular interaction with drivers, warehouse colleagues, and customers, and requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and confident decision-making. No heavy lifting is involved.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor automation and WMS systems to ensure timely and accurate stock movements.
Take an active role in investigating stock queries, discrepancies, and system issues.
Maintain stock administration, including data input, allocations, and documentation scanning.
Manage stock control using our WMS for customers.
Support inbound and outbound stock flow to meet warehouse and customer requirements.
Monitor system performance and escalate issues where required.
Liaise with engineering and operational teams to resolve automation or system faults.
Manage the booking diary and schedule collections and deliveries
Sign up PODs and liaise with Lineage drivers and external hauliers.
Control yard activity, including coordination with shunters, drivers, and outside hauliers.
Issue keys, pads, and prepare run sheets for drivers.
Handle telephone and email queries, providing a high level of customer service.
Manage NCRs and communicate discrepancies to customers in a timely manner.
Provide accurate shift handovers and support site KPIs.
Undertake ad hoc administrative and operational tasks as required.
What Are We Looking For?
Strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Confidence investigating system failures and stock issues.
Customer-focused approach with a professional manner.
Competent IT user, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), is desirable but not essential.
Previous experience in stock control, automation, logistics, or a warehouse environment is advantageous.
