Maintenance and Engineering Technician (MHE)

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on forklifts and other MHE according to manufacturer and company standards
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues impacting equipment performance
At automated sites, complete PMs and basic troubleshooting on sensors, switches, and control components (photo eyes, proximity switches, push buttons, etc.)
Perform basic inspections and minor repairs on refrigeration systems (training provided as needed)
Accurately document completed work, inspections, and repairs, and communicate equipment status to leadership daily
Support facility and exterior maintenance tasks as needed
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fabricate or repair components
Operate lifts and other motorized equipment safely while inspecting, maintaining, or repairing assets
Required Experience & Skills

At least 1 year of hands-on maintenance experience (or a combination of experience and trade/technical school), with a strong preference for:
Forklift or MHE maintenance
Industrial or building maintenance
Confident using hand tools and power tools
Comfortable completing preventative maintenance with minimal supervision
Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation
Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the team
Good troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to work in cold storage environments (down to -20°F / -25°C) or warmer dry facilities (up to 100°F / 37°C), with provided PPE and freezer gear
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. (may vary by location)
Flexibility to work different shifts or weekends as needed
Comfort working around equipment noise and, at some sites, working at heights
The compensation range for this position is $27.36–$42.74 per hour. For this specific role, we are targeting an hourly rate between $35 and $38.
The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.
