Maintenance Technician
Grand Island, NE, USA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Overtime, on-call rotation, and occasional weekend rounds required.

What You'll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues to minimize downtime.
- Assist with inspections and basic maintenance of industrial refrigeration equipment (ammonia refrigeration experience is a plus).
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment following manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Complete maintenance work orders and accurately document inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Communicate equipment concerns and repair recommendations to leadership.
- Safely operate power tools, welding equipment, lifts, and other maintenance equipment as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of maintenance experience or a combination of maintenance experience and technical/trade school training.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Industrial or manufacturing maintenance
- Building or property maintenance
- Material handling equipment maintenance
- Mechanical or automotive repair
- Hotel or facilities maintenance
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Stable work history with a desire to build a long-term career.
- Candidates should reside within approximately 40–50 miles of the Grand Island facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial refrigeration or cold storage environments.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Experience working in food manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -20°F in freezer environments to 100°F in dry storage areas while wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces throughout the shift.
- Ability to work overtime, participate in an on-call rotation, and work occasional weekends as business needs require.
- Some locations may require working at heights and in environments with elevated noise levels.
