Having drastically increased our European footprint in a short period with now +70 locations across 10 European countries. Benelux is one of our biggest regions with 18 locations in the Netherlands and 3 in Belgium and with approximately 1300 employees. In the Benelux our business is diverse and includes cold storage, stewadoring, freight forwarding, blending and transport.

The role:

We are building One Lineage. Due to recent acquisitions in the Benelux we are in the midst of integration activities, both in terms of systems and compensation as well as in terms of culture and leadership. In this role you will be expected to lead these initiatives together with your HR team. As the HR Director in Benelux you will be a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to 3 Regional Vice Presidents and other senior regional leaders and will lead a HR team of 12 HR professionals in the Benelux including payroll. Moreover, Germany will also be in your scope where we have 1 HR BP.

You will be part of the European HR team that builds the European HR strategy based on our global Lineage HR practices. Important HR topics for Lineage are employee engagement, talent management, leadership development and HR metrics. And Lineage continues to grow, so you will also be involved in new acquisitions in your region.

This is a role requires site visits in the region and allows hybrid working; sometimes from one of our locations and sometimes form home. .For the Benelux region, Rotterdam is often used as the head quarter.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with regional leadership team to drive business performance by offering the best HR business partnering

  • Lead and build the HR and payroll team in a lean and engaged way

  • Collect relevant HR-data that bring insights and data-driven improvements

  • Collaborate with the European HR leadership team as a valued team member and bring vision and solutions for the region on topics such as talent management, compensation structure and employee engagement initiatives and know your global stakeholders.

  • Lead HR projects that result from integration or improvement initiatives

  • Drive implementation of HR practices that strengthen our culture and values across the region

  • Communicate and involve all relevant stakeholders on important developments and initiatives in the region

  • Contribute to the company’s efficiency through the optimal management of HR budget and costs.

Who we’re looking for:

You will be a service oriented and collaborative HR leader, who will enjoy working as part of a global team; to help build our HR services for a fast-growing European region.

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience, Master’s degree is a plus

  • Relevant working experience of 8-10 years from operational to strategic HR and experience in leading and influencing a team;

  • Previous experience bringing companies together after acquisitions would be a big plus

  • Knowledge of general HR policies, procedures, and HR leading practices and applicable laws

  • Experience and ability to work in a (global) matrix organization and international environment

  • Ability to think strategically and analytically, bring learning agility and a result-oriented approach

  • Proven project management skills to be able to oversee and lead HR projects

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that will enable you to interact effectively at all levels both internally and externally

  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills in English and Dutch

  • Experience working in Workday or similar HR systems
