Lineage is looking for an energetic, talented, and self-motivated Pricing Analyst to join our team. The Pricing Analyst is responsible for transportation costing, rating, and pricing development and maintenance. This role also provides efficient administrative support involving all aspects of customer quotations, pricing, and rating inquiries. Also, provides exceptional customer support as well as working collaboratively with a wide range of internal stake holders. The Pricing Analyst works closely with Business Development and customers, providing the analysis to develop fact-based costing and pricing development for RFPs, RFQs and other pricing requests. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides professional and exceptional service when communicating with all customers and internal stakeholders for all rating related inquiries.
  • Plays a leadership role in the Pricing Department, being a team player and collaborating effectively with all team members to achieve daily assigned objectives.
  • Actively communicate with existing and new small customers to provide rates and invoicing support and ensure access to all available resources and services.
  • Prospect and secure new small account transportation volume.
  • Support Business Development and participate in projects and exercises that support yield improvement and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Assist with transportation invoice inquiries and resolutions and work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice disputes.
  • Perform all pricing and rates administration and work directly with external customers as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update Lineage and customer specific Fuel Surcharge (FSC) programs as well as all accessorial charges within Truckmate.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of all tariff and non-tariff rate structure within Truckmate.
  • Subject matter expert within Truckmate for the maintenance of rate sheets, accessorial charges and FSC programs.
  • Co-ordinate the execution and implementation of the annual general rate increase (GRI) process, update rate agreements and rates in Truckmate and provide customers with updated pricing.
  • Ensures contract and rate agreement compliance with customers for scheduled rate increases, various FSC programs, and accessorial charges.
  • Ensure customer contacts database in Truckmate is current and up to date.
  • Prepares spot rate quotes and shipment cost verifications and respond to rate inquiries for both existing and new customers.
  • Monitor and action Truckmate DAWG reports by providing an administrative audit to a variety of processes.
  • Acts as a costing and pricing liaison for company-wide enquiries.
  • Collaborates with Business Development to develop competitive customer pricing proposals to maximize account revenue and profitability.
  • Translates business opportunities and customer needs into collaborative pricing solutions.
  • Dissects and prepares RFP / RFQ bid opportunities for pricing analysis and development.
  • Develops fact-based costing using TCG costing software by conducting analysis of opportunity service requirements.
  • Ensures rigor and accuracy in all pricing analysis and operates within the approved guideline framework of the pricing department.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of all assigned pricing proposals and communicate to both external customers and business development.
  • Performs margin and pricing analysis to support the business.
  • Prepares reports for both internal and external distribution as required.
  • Prepares reporting to track key performance indicators and pricing activities within the department as required.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required, including answering the telephone, relaying messages, and responding to or re-directing customer requests for appropriate handling.
  • Provides vacation coverage for team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the transportation or logistics industry, in an LTL and/or TL environment.
  • Costing, pricing and/or rating experience in an LTL and/or TL environment is desirable.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Professional Logistics (P. Log) designation or CITT is considered an asset.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Office 365 products with advanced excel skills.
  • Strong computer skills, ideally experience with TCG costing software and Truckmate transportation management software.
  • Strong organization skills and sharp attention to detail.
  • Motivated and innovative self-starter with demonstrated initiative.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to deal with ambiguity and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize workflow to ensure deadlines are met in a demanding environment. Able to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
