Operations Manager, Laverton

As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint an Operations Manager to join the team at our Laverton facility in Melbourne.

This is an exciting, fast-paced retail services environment where you will report to and partner with the site General Manager in ensuring the operation is consistently safe, compliant, profitable, and cost-efficient.

Importantly, this facility supports a 24/7 retail operation for an iconic Australian business and your role will be critical to ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and service are being delivered.

The Role

A typical week in this role would involve collaborating with your peers and leaders in your team to ensure a robust plan is in place to deliver the daily plan to our customer. This will be achieved by making sure you have the right level of resources and equipment across the forthcoming days and weeks of the operation.

You will also spend time using your focus on Continuous Improvement to support efficiency and improve productivity, all the while ensuring that safety comes first in everything we do.

Working closely with your frontline leaders, you will consistently ensure our team members are recognised for their great work and that together, we are developing a strong, values-based and engaged culture.

You will also closely monitor and actively manage costs to reduce waste and maximise value against contract requirements.

Determining hourly/daily/weekly labour and equipment requirements aligned to shift, workload and safety obligations will also form an important part of your role.

About You

We’re looking for a proven people leader who values safety and is customer obsessed. Ideally, you will also be very familiar with a similar retail/distribution operating framework and understand some of the key challenges and opportunities associated with this model.

Qualification in Logistics Management or relevant business discipline would also be beneficial, combined with a solid understanding of profit and loss and other KPIs that help contain storage, handling and distribution costs.
