Your expertise will help ensure that our operations continue to run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, supporting our mission to keep goods moving across the globe, from warehouse to doorstep.Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform physical inspection and calibration, preventative maintenance, and repairs on all mechanical and electrical assets impacting the operation of the facility, physical structure, and exterior grounds.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on High Pressure Pasteurization (HPP) equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components, to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- At automated sites, perform preventative maintenance tasks on proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, pressure switches, push buttons, and associated testing equipment.
- Perform inspections and basic repairs of refrigeration systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance on material handling equipment per manufacturer and company guidelines to ensure safe and continuous operation.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, evaluations, and preventative maintenance activities, and provide regular updates to leadership regarding equipment status and maintenance needs.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate power tools, cutting torches, and other welding apparatus to cut or join metal parts.
- Utilize onsite motorized lifts and rental equipment as needed while operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience or a combination of experience and trade school training in building maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance, refrigeration maintenance (ammonia, Freon, and/or CO2), or HPP equipment maintenance.
- Capable of completing preventative maintenance tasks with instructions and minimal supervision.
- Fully proficient with and capable of operating power and hand tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction across all levels of the facility.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize workloads with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work in environments with temperatures as low as -20°F/-25°C in cold storage or up to 100°F/37°C in dry storage while wearing company-provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear.
- Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs./23 kgs. (weight requirements may vary by location).
- Flexibility to work various schedules and shifts, including weekends as needed.
- Comfort working in environments with varying noise levels and, at some locations, at heights.
