Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Sun-Tues every other Wed 7am-730pm)

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform basic preventive maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical equipment, facility structures, and exterior grounds under the direct supervision of leadership.
At automated sites, assist with preventive maintenance on proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, pressure switches, and push buttons, including use of testing equipment—all with guidance and oversight.
Conduct basic inspections of refrigeration systems under close supervision.
Support routine maintenance on material handling equipment following manufacturer and company guidelines to ensure safe and continuous operation.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment to cut or join metal components.
Use onsite motorized lifts and rental equipment as needed for equipment operation, inspection, calibration, and maintenance.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
Completion of trade school coursework or entry-level experience in areas such as building maintenance, material handling equipment, or refrigeration (ammonia, Freon, or CO₂) is preferred.
Ability to complete routine preventive maintenance tasks with guidance and supervision.
Proficient in the use of power and hand tools.
Basic computer skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the facility.
Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving skills.
Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload with good organizational ability.
Comfortable working in extreme temperatures: as low as -20°F/-25°C in cold storage and up to 100°F/37°C in dry storage, while wearing company-provided PPE and freezer gear.
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. (23 kg); some facilities may require handling heavier loads.
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed.
At some locations, must be comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels.
Some sites may also require experience or training related to Working at Height.
