2nd Shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician

2nd shift: M-F 2p-10p
You’ll assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, facility structures, plumbing, and electrical systems — all while following strict safety guidelines and company policies. We provide hands-on training to help you build the skills needed to grow your career within our maintenance department.Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical systems, facility structures, and exterior grounds under close supervision.
Conduct basic inspections of the refrigeration system, following guidance from leadership.
Carry out preventative maintenance on material handling equipment in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines to ensure safe, ongoing operation.
Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
Additional Responsibilities
Safely operate power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Use motorized lifts and rental equipment as needed to inspect, calibrate, operate, and maintain facility systems.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Trade school coursework or minimal hands-on experience in building maintenance, equipment maintenance, or refrigeration systems (ammonia, Freon, and/or CO₂) preferred.
Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance tasks with instruction and supervision.
Proficient in using power and hand tools.
Basic computer skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the facility.
Good problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
Comfortable working in extreme temperatures: as low as -20°F (-25°C) in cold storage or up to 100°F (37°C) in dry storage, with appropriate PPE provided.
Able to lift at least 50 lbs (23 kg); weight may vary by location.
Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends, as needed.
Comfortable working in noisy environments where required.
Some locations may require experience or willingness to work at heights safely.
