Carrier Management Specialist

We’re looking for a Carrier Management Specialist to join our centralized Transportation Management team in Novi, MI. In this dynamic role, you’ll be the go-to expert for carrier management within your assigned region—playing a critical part in ensuring reliable, cost-effective transportation solutions across North America.
This is more than just a coordination role—you’ll build and grow carrier networks, drive performance through analytics and scorecards, and collaborate with operations to support long-term growth and efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
Serve as the primary carrier point of contact for your region, leading daily carrier management operations.
Build, develop, and manage a strong, reliable network of carriers to ensure consistent capacity and competitive pricing.
Partner with operations to secure commitments and award freight to preferred carriers.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align carrier strategies with business objectives.
Oversee the full carrier onboarding process, including contract management, insurance verification, and safety compliance.
Monitor carrier performance using scorecards and KPIs; identify opportunities for improvement and drive accountability.
Support pricing initiatives, network optimization projects, and capacity planning for seasonal or volume-based needs.
What You Bring:
1–3+ years of experience in carrier relations or transportation logistics; temperature-controlled, LTL, or dedicated carrier experience is a strong plus.
Solid understanding of transportation operations and carrier cost drivers.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Strong analytical and communication skills—you can interpret data and build relationships with ease.
Familiarity with contract administration and compliance processes is a bonus.
