Entry Writer Supervisor

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and mentor a team of entry writers, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Review and approve customs entries for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure proper classification of goods using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes.
- Monitor daily workflow and allocate resources to meet deadlines and service commitments.
- Communicate with clients regarding shipment status, documentation requirements, and regulatory updates.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, compliance, customer service) to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Stay current with changes in customs regulations and ensure team training and compliance.
- Support audits and maintain accurate records in accordance with CBP and company standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
- Minimum 4 years of experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and import procedures
- Experience with ABI systems and customs software (e.g., Descartes, NETchb, CargoWise)
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and customs entry platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
