Maintenance Technician - MHE, Building, and Ammonia Refrigeration

What You’ll Do
Take initiative to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, building systems, and refrigeration systems with minimal oversight.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical systems, refrigeration equipment, facility infrastructure, and MHE to keep everything operating at peak performance.
Monitor refrigeration system design and performance through testing, inspections, and reporting.
Document all work in our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) daily.
Communicate findings, updates, and solutions clearly to leadership and team members.
Support contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
Use motorized lifts and other equipment as needed for inspections, calibrations, and repairs.
What We’re Looking For
At least 3 years of hands-on mechanical experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or similar environment (trade school experience counts too).
2+ years of ammonia refrigeration experience (Freon and/or CO₂ experience a plus).
Experience maintaining and repairing material handling equipment.
Strong facility maintenance skills, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to work independently and show autonomy in problem-solving and decision-making.
Basic knowledge of electrical instrumentation and ability to read P&IDs is helpful.
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, CMMS).
Clear communication skills to share technical information with non-technical audiences.
Comfortable working in cold storage (-20°F) or dry storage (up to 100°F) environments with provided PPE.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if needed.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. or more, depending on facility needs.
Willingness to complete Refrigeration Operator I (CARO) certification within 6 months of hire.
