We're looking for a skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you'll be hands-on with the systems that keep our cold storage facility running — especially industrial refrigeration systems using ammonia. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment while following strict safety and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems
- Conduct testing to ensure systems operate within design specifications and safety guidelines
- Support refrigeration operations through equipment calibration, adjustments, and performance evaluations
- Log completed work in our CMMS (computerized maintenance system) daily
- Perform general maintenance on electrical systems, building infrastructure, and warehouse equipment
- Monitor and assist contractors working on or near ammonia systems to ensure compliance with safety procedures
- Other tasks as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- 1-2 years of industrial refrigeration experience, including ammonia systems (REQUIRED)
- Ability to complete CARO, CIRO or Refrigeration Operator I certification
- Working knowledge of safety controls, and refrigerant regulations
- Mechanical aptitude, including working with tools and systems in an industrial/warehouse environment
- Basic electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience (especially in automated environments).
Nice to Have:
- Trade school or technical training in refrigeration or electrical systems
- Experience maintaining equipment in food production, cold storage, or industrial warehousing settings
- Ability to use motorized lifts, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Temperature ranges from -20°F in freezer zones to 100°F in dry storage areas (gear provided)
- Must be able to lift 40+ lbs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts or weekends when needed
- Must be comfortable working around noise and at heights (some locations).
