Job Summary:
Lineage’s Network Optimization teams are responsible for the successful delivery of our greenfield, expansion and economic return projects across the global Lineage business. That includes all stages of the project from feasibility, concept, engineering, procurement, delivery, launch and operations. The Network Optimization teams work collaboratively with our Data Science and Automation teams, our software development teams, and partners with our operational and business development partners to deliver projects ranging from a value of € 10 million to 450 million euro.
The Project Manager Design and Construction (D&C) is responsible for managing the design and construction lifecycle of an automated cold storage warehouse project in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands. Acting as Lineage’s primary representative, this role ensures the seamless integration of design intent and construction execution, meeting technical, financial, quality, safety, and timeline expectations. The D&C Project Manager will liaise between and coordinate with a large group of stakeholders including Lineage technical resources, external contractors and partners to successfully complete the project. The role requires strong project governance, stakeholder alignment, and a comprehensive understanding of cold storage operational requirements to deliver future-ready facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the agreed project plans and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters and ensure timely completion of inspections and operational readiness.
Integration of project plans and schedules from multiple sources to create a cohesive plan with identifiable critical path, task tracking, and major milestones.
Adherence to Lineage’s global standards and operational objectives
Construction quality meets design specifications and compliance standards
Effective management of contractors and consultants and clear and consistent stakeholder communication
Achievement of commissioning and handover milestones
Strong safety performance across all project phases
Lead project governance and decision-making structures
Ensure compliance with codes and cold storage standards
Review design deliverables through each phase
Lead constructability reviews and site logistics planning and lead site meetings and resolve technical or coordination issues
Manage and/or Support tendering, contract negotiations, and contractor onboarding
Coordinate with other Lineage technical PMs such as IT or automation, to manage the overall project performance
Monitor compliance with health & safety and QA/QC protocols
Lead commissioning of all systems (including refrigeration) (automation and IT to be coordinated with)
Oversee handover process including as-builts, training, and documentation
Manage final financials, warranty items, and lessons learned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, CCM, or equivalent preferred
5+ years in construction project management
Proven track record delivering projects >€20M
Strong understanding of refrigerated systems and temperature-controlled environments (preferred)
Experience in an (automated) logistics environment
Experience with full lifecycle project management (concept through commissioning)
Excellent contract negotiation and financial oversight skills
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership
Familiarity with regulatory standards for food storage facilities
Proficient in project management tools (e.g. MS Office Suite, Primavera)
Must be willing to work non-standard hours to support delivery of time-critical project deadlines
Must be willing to work on site (Bergen op Zoom) full time during active projects
Good communications skills in Dutch and English
