Facilities Maintenance Manager (Ammonia Refrigeration)

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, train, and mentor a small maintenance team, providing performance feedback and assigning duties to ensure productivity, efficiency, and technical development.
Oversee all maintenance-related activities for a smaller non-automated facility, ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory safety, environmental, and risk management standards.
Manage, plan, and schedule maintenance workload using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Partner with the Facility General Manager to develop and manage annual budgets for labor and materials; review utility reports and implement creative energy-saving solutions.
Provide recommendations for capital expenditure projects and ensure timely completion.
Lead site-specific energy efficiency projects in partnership with the Lineage Energy Management team.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical input and support for the design and management of future building or automation projects in collaboration with the Network Optimization team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
High School diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred.
2–3 years of experience managing a small maintenance team, including workload and resource planning.
Ammonia refrigeration experience and certifications required (PSM/RMP experience strongly preferred).
3+ years of facility maintenance experience, ideally within cold storage or industrial environments.
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including troubleshooting and system maintenance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Ability to work in cold storage environments (as low as -20°F) or warm dry areas (up to 100°F) while wearing required PPE and freezer gear.
Comfortable working around varying noise levels.
