The Product Owner, Senior will be responsible for engaging with a wide variety of business stakeholders to understand their business problems and needs to translate them into functional requirements. This position will work with Product Managers to analyze and prioritize the most valuable innovations that align to our enterprise strategic goals. The individual will be a self-starter driven by curiosity and a passion to improve business execution and decision-making through technology.

The Product Owner, Senior is a key role in driving technology transformation and advances Lineage’s vision of being the most dynamic temperature-controlled logistics company that eliminates waste and helps feed the world.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritizes the needs / incoming requests of stakeholders while considering value, scope, budget, resources, dependencies, and time
  • Communicates expectations and gains buy in from stakeholders
  • Translates business problems into technical problems to give clear instructions for developers
  • Anticipates the needs of key stakeholders by maintaining a deep understanding of what they do and want
  • Owns/manages the product or platform roadmap. Contributes to the product vision.
  • Defines the product vision and objectives (clear OKR’s) that align with business goals and objectives
  • Communicates the success of the product using measurable OKR’s/KPI’s to tell the story
  • Coordinates with other product managers to align roadmaps
  • Works with engineers and architects to define a solution for stakeholder and data-driven initiatives
  • Creates, updates, and removes epics and/or user stories in the product backlog
  • Collaborates with engineers to estimate/size each user story
  • Defines and clearly articulates problem statements and acceptance criteria (business requirements) for each Epic and User Story

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maps dependencies between epics and stories
  • Prioritizes user stories to deliver the highest value each sprint and ensure that OKR’s and deliverable timelines are met
  • Defines the vision and objectives with metrics for each sprint
  • Participates in sprint ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
  • Collaborates with engineers to answer questions and make connections, while clearly explaining the purpose, problem statement and requirements
  • Reviews and signs off on completed user stories and epics
  • Removes blockers for developer teams
  • Plans functional demos with stakeholders as needed
  • Approves transition to build, test, and release phases within the product lifecycle
  • Document the product's evolution
  • Create communications to stakeholders about product releases
  • Create and maintain product documentation with additions, amendments, and removals of functionality

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in business, computer science, or related field; MS or MBA preferred
  • Five years previous experience as a product owner or senior business analyst; alternatively, an MBA with a concentration in data-driven decision making or product management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and deliver results to a non-technical audience
  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, technical understanding of products and up to date on industry standards and best practices
  • Proficient with SQL
  • Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with business analysts, UI/UX team, leadership, senior management and internal and external stakeholders
  • Close attention to detail and the ability to work to a high standard
  • Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to function in a fast paced, highly visible and fast-changing high growth environment
  • Knowledge of advanced data modelling and analytics preferred
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Trello) preferred
  • Logistics or Supply Chain experience preferred
