Job Summary

mPulse is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant with 3–5 years of public accounting experience to join our Finance team. This role will focus on technical accounting research, revenue recognition under ASC 606, accounting policy development, and financial reporting support.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the Assistant Controller, Controller, and Director of Revenue to ensure accurate application of accounting standards, support monthly close activities, and assist with acquisition-related accounting matters. This position plays an important role in maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP and strengthening internal accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.

• Provide accounting guidance for internally developed software, including capitalization, amortization, and financial disclosure requirements.

• Support the Director of Revenue in the implementation and ongoing compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, including complex contract review.

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, including prepaid expenses and key balance sheet accounts.

• Research complex accounting matters and prepare technical accounting memoranda with recommendations for leadership.

• Support external audits by preparing documentation and providing explanations related to technical accounting issues.

• Assist the Assistant Controller and Controller with purchase accounting for acquisitions, including preparation of schedules and fair value analyses.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• 3–5 years of public accounting experience

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition

• Experience developing and documenting accounting policies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• CPA certification

• Experience with accounting for internally developed software

• Experience preparing technical accounting memoranda

• Experience supporting audits and acquisition accounting
