We are a growing organization and currently looking for a passionate and motivated Bilingual Transportation Business Analyst to join our winning team.

Employment Type: Full Time
Reports To: Continuous Improvement Manager
Office/Facility: Lachine, Milton, Calgary
Hours: Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm

POSITION SUMMARY

The Transportation Business Analyst will work closely with our management, operation, and TMS teams to provide business insight and analytical support to key stakeholders throughout the organization. This is an opportunity for an analytical, detail-oriented, and result-oriented individual to support and optimize decision making by highlighting the trends, impacts, risks, and benefits of reporting and operational best practices along with developing an end-to-end understanding of business processes. You are responsible for providing analytics, reporting, process mapping, process documentation, and project support for the transportation business unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day-to-day review and analysis of reports and dashboards across various departments
  • Extract valuable information, including relationships, patterns, trends, and projections from reporting
  • Collaborate in the creation of dashboards and reports which helps visualize and summarize findings
  • Provide actionable insights into reporting patterns, trends, projections, and ad-hoc business needs
  • Collaborate with other members of the transportation department on longer-term initiatives and further development of our analytical capabilities including reporting optimization and recommendation
  • Deliver ad-hoc projects, analysis, and other BA-related duties as assigned
  • Performing various roles on projects as needed, which may include project lead, analysis lead, test lead, system trainer
  • Assist other departments to identify & develop target reporting to drive decision and operational efficiencies
  • Documentation and clear mapping of business processes.
  • Conduct solution, user and administrator testing as required
  • Contribute to development and execution of strategies, business plans, and projects to manage existing and develop new business with existing and prospective clients.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary completion in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
  • Ability to work within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Demonstrates a naturally collaborative approach and the capability to leverage knowledge/skills where appropriate from across the organization.
  • Experience in transportation/supply chain environments is considered an asset.
  • Highly proactive and comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Experience in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases and user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Demonstrate exemplary written and communication skills with the confidence and ability to communicate with internal stakeholders at different levels throughout the Company.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple competing priorities professionally often under tight timelines.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with initiative and ability to think strategically, work effectively and independently under limited supervision as well as within a team.
  • Demonstrate proven ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems, to approach problems proactively and present viable solutions or escalate issues as appropriate to Management.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
