The Asia-Pacific region currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Singapore employing nearly 3000 team members.

As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint an Audit & Risk Manager, Asia Pac to join our finance team in Sydney.

The primary focus of this role will be to provide independent guidance and advice on governance, risk management and internal control for Asia Pacific.

You will also partner with the Leadership Team and Corporate (US) to reduce risk and strengthen the controls environment.

Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Enterprise Risk Management

Support with:

  • Maintaining the Enterprise Risk Management Register.

  • Maintaining the Enterprise Risk Management Dashboard.

  • Reporting on risk reduction efforts.

  • Chairing Risk Committee meetings periodically with key stakeholders (includes reporting).

  • Sharing insights with Country/Regional Risk Committees (other markets) to drive consistency and uplift maturity & capability.

SOX Compliance

Support with:

  • Flowcharting core processes.

  • Identifying key risks and controls.

  • Assessing design and operating effectiveness of key controls.

  • Undertaking root cause analysis and agree remediation plans for identified gaps.

  • Presenting SOX results for Asia Pac to Group SOX Committee periodically.

  • Sharing insights to drive consistency and uplift maturity & capability.

Internal Audit

Support with:

  • Maintaining the Regional Audit program and completing assurance activities.

  • Completing other assurance activities as required (SOX independent testing, corporate audits, project health checks, etc).

  • Documenting findings, undertake root cause analysis and agreeing remediation plans with owners.

  • Monitoring and reporting on action management

Governance Risk & Compliance System

  • Set up and maintaining for assurance related activities (SOX, etc).

  • Facilitating training to the required stakeholder pool.

In addition to these key areas of responsibilities, you will participate in and/or lead the completion of investigations and work with project teams to embed project risk management fundamental into Ways of Working.

Your background and experience should ideally include:

  • A Bachelors’ degree in accounting or related field required.

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (CA, CPA, Juris Doctor, etc.) strongly preferred.

  • Extensive experience with large multinational organisations strongly preferred

  • Sound knowledge of applicable laws (Corporations Act 2001, SOX Act 2002, International Accounting Standards, US GAAP etc).

  • Sound knowledge of enterprise risk management and internal control standards.

  • Deep understanding of SOX compliance including Information Technology General and Application Controls with publicly listed companies strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the Internal Audit lifecycle including completion of all types of reviews.

  • Sound understanding and application of project risk management fundamentals.

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

  • Practical experience with simplifying governance for non-governance professionals!
