Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Community Impact, the Manager of Community Impact will be expected to perform the following tasks:
- Lead PosiGen’s community education and engagement activities in Rhode Island. They will be the public representative for PosiGen within the community.
- Manage and coordinate with the sales, operations, and marketing teams to hold local events to increase PosiGen’s visibility, reputation, and impact.
- Provide education on solar, energy efficiency, and other related topics to local stakeholders.
- Meaningfully engage with local community leaders and groups on environmental and economic topics that align with PosiGen’s mission. This may include attending local meetings or webinars, participating in advocacy campaigns, or providing other forms of support.
- Develop and manage workforce development programs and initiatives with local partners or internally, in coordination with Human Resources, where available and as directed by the Sr. Director.
- Serve as the main point of contact for participation with program administrators for the Affordable Solar Access Pathways Program or local officials for municipal Solar For All campaigns. This may include tracking program participation and helping other departments within PosiGen overcome challenges that arise during program participation.
- Manage local charitable giving and/or fundraising programs.
- Develop new strategies, materials, or messaging to reach underserved and disadvantaged communities in the applicable states or regions.
- Work collaboratively with the Public Policy team on policy issues, advocacy campaigns, and customer engagement where appropriate.
- Assist the Marketing and Public Relations team in telling the PosiGen story and how PosiGen is providing a positive impact in communities.
- Document and track PosiGen’s community impact for use in impact reports and for B Corp certification.

- Working knowledge and proficiency with Google Workspace products and services is a benefit.
- Experience working with communities, non-profits, and local and state governments is preferred.
- A general understanding of solar and energy efficiency offerings and the ability to communicate the benefits effectively to a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Having a creative and problem-solving approach to challenges.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the residential solar industry, an energy-related field, government, or community engagement is preferred. Additional experience is beneficial.
- Knowledge of local community groups, organizing principles, and solar energy and energy efficiency products is preferred.
