Take Command Health
About Take Command
Take Command is a start-up on a mission to improve the healthcare system, starting with health insurance. Pragmatically speaking, we help employers reimburse employees for individual insurance instead of offering a traditional one-size-fits-all group plan. We believe this model can empower employees (when they have the right support) to be savvy healthcare consumers and have a transformative impact on the entire healthcare system.
Let’s be honest—health insurance is usually a confusing, frustrating, and even emotional experience for people. We want to fix that with a new model, great technology, and a superior user experience. We have made a great start, but we need your help to fully realize our long-term vision.
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
You’ll support the development and execution of strategic initiatives across the business. From evaluating new opportunities to helping refine our growth roadmap, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional leaders to turn high-level vision into concrete action plans.
2. Growth Initiatives
Work closely with the VP of Strategy to assess and prioritize new growth opportunities, including new market segments, product offerings, or go-to-market channels. You’ll own research, modeling, and early testing to validate assumptions and inform investment decisions.
3. Market & Client Insights
Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to deeply understand customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape. You’ll support segmentation efforts, customer interviews, and internal data dives that inform product and partnership decisions.
4. Cross-Functional Leadership
You’ll serve as a key connector across teams. From operations to marketing to product, you’ll ensure alignment and accountability on high-priority strategic initiatives. This may include developing project timelines, tracking KPIs, and surfacing blockers.
5. Partnership Evaluation & Support
Assist in evaluating and managing potential strategic partners. Help define partnership criteria, conduct vendor and partner assessments, and prepare executive-level materials to support decision-making.
6. Business Case Development
Build financial models and strategic business cases to support new initiatives. You’ll be relied on to break down complex ideas and communicate them clearly with stakeholders to guide resource allocation

- Demonstrated ability to own complex projects from idea through implementation
- Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset and a bias toward action
- Highly analytical with experience building business cases, models, or customer segmentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work cross-functionally and influence without authority
- Comfortable with ambiguity and eager to tackle big challenges in a growing company

More About Us
We secured our Series B funding in 2023 and are thrilled to be able to expand our team. Despite being a small startup in a land of health insurance giants, we’re the recognized industry leader for what we do (health insurance reimbursements) and passionate about bringing it to market because we know we can help fix a broken system and improve our clients’ wellbeing and health outcomes.
We’ve been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Dallas Morning News, and other national healthcare publications and are excited about our growth opportunities.
Take Command knows diversity and inclusion among our teammates is integral to our company’s success and growth. Our vision is to recruit, develop, and retain the best team from a diverse candidate pool.
This has mostly been about us, but we’d love to hear from you--we can’t wait to hear your story!
