Job Description

The role of the Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator is to manage and optimize the procurement process from ordering to receiving, while maintaining accurate inventory levels at all times. The candidate will monitor and reconciliate inventory levels to support organizational objectives and daily manufacturing activities using an ERP. The candidate will also be managing relationships with suppliers to ensure best pricing, and timely and accurate delivery of goods and services. At times, the Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator may be asked to drive and collect parts at vendors, and/or help with manufacturing activities and/or travel.

Essential Job Functions:

· Maintain excellent relationships with vendors and suppliers

· Review purchase requests from internal stakeholders

· Conduct market research to identify & audit new suppliers and vendors

· Generate purchase orders

· Lead vendor negotiation

· Track inventory and hold vendors/suppliers accountable

· Troubleshoot and resolve a range of issues that may arise in procurement process (late delivery, shortages, logistical complexities)

· Resolve vendor disputes and discrepancies

· Maintain records for orders, repairs, invoicing, returns/exchanges

· Lead and perform accurate inventory counts with internal stakeholders (Finance)

· Maintain a clean and organized work environment

· Receive and label parts into inventory following standard organizational practice

· Learn and use an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software

· Ability to control inventory levels, and reconciliate inventory based on manufacturing activities

· Ability to drive a forklift

· Ability to drive a box-truck

· Ability to help write and update manufacturing technical documents (Operating Manuals, SOPs, etc.)

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

· Effective communication skills and proactive spirit

· Basic accounting knowledge

· Technical experience and writing skills preferred

· Experience with ERP software (Business Central ERP a plus)

· Experience with purchasing and inventory management software

· Impeccable attention to detail

· Ability to prioritize and self-direct decision-making

· Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

· Team-player

Education:

· Bachelor or Technical Degree (Business, Finance, Supply Chain)

Physical Requirements

· Be on your feet for 10-12 hours

· Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted.

· Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks

· Ability to work in hot and cold environments

· Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts

· Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
