We design and manufacture innovative, sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical products. Job Title: Director of Human Resources

Supervisor’s Title: Chief Human Resources Officer

Job Description:

The Director of Human Resources will have responsibility for the HR Business Partners for all manufacturing human resources activities in three TemperPack facilities located in Richmond, VA, Holt, MI and Las Vegas, NV. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing relationships, managing HR teams, implementing compliant processes, and making sound decisions. This role requires a self-starter, who can work autonomously with a high-level of accountability.

Essential Job Functions:

· Oversees the daily workflow of the human resources business partners in all three manufacturing plants

· Responsible for full life cycle recruiting of hourly workforce

· Manages the performance management and annual review process in assigned locations

· Manages disciplinary procedures consistent with TemperPack’s Progressive Discipline System for hourly employees

· Thoroughly conducts investigations and determines appropriate resolution

· Identifies long-term goals for the human resources manufacturing business partners

· Assists with resolution of human resource questions and concerns, in partnership with HR team

· Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and requirements pertaining to safety, insurance, and employment

· Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management

· Manages leave and disability programs consistent with state/federal laws

· Provides support as a business partner to the operations teams

· Manages the accurate filing of important documentation in employee’s personnel files

· Collaborates with TemperPack’s Employee Engagement Manager to plan and lead employee engagement events and activities

· Direct supervision of manufacturing HR business partners in assigned locations

· Facilitates the offboarding process for exiting employees

· Travel to other TemperPack facilities as needed

· Other duties as necessitated by the business

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred

· Extensive knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including payroll, benefits, employee relations, employment laws, recruiting, and compensation

· A minimum of 10 years HR experience leading HR teams and processes in a manufacturing company preferred

Physical Requirements:

· Lift up to 15 pounds unassisted

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
