Facilities Maintenance Tech

Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Facilities Lead
Business Unit: Engineering
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Role Summary:

TemperPack is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the company's facilities and equipment. This role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ability to follow guidelines, specifications, standards & regulations, and influences best practices to accomplish work.
  • Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities; to achieve the completion of diverse tasks in relation to building and equipment.
  • Adherence to safety practices and principles, relevant to machine and people safety/LOTO.
  • Ensure the maintenance of facilities equipment and tools are in a clean, secure, and appropriate working condition.
    • Exhibit customer service professionalism daily .
    • Support Temperpack personnel, trouble shoot facility equipment and process.
    • Adhere to the maintenance PM schedule, filling out documentation properly in a timely fashion utilizing CMMS for work completion and inventory accountability.
    • Work with the team adding valuable input to improve processes and safety.
    • Identify non-critical issues before imminent failure.
    • Engage in proper documentation of parts inventory using the CMMS
    • Promote work safe conditions in the facility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and high-level efficiency of hand tools, power tools, drill press, grinders, etc. Knowledge of safe working practices with rotating and high voltage machinery.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements including lock-out/tag-out, confined spaces, MSDS, etc.
  • Working knowledge of motor control circuits
  • Ability to disassemble and assemble gearboxes, pumps.
  • Ability to identify and measure critical tolerances or dimensions.
  • Ability to work cohesively with other team members, and to contribute positively to the work environment.

Experience:

  • Construction and general “handy man” utilities such as, lighting, plumbing, residential electrical trade skills, basic carpentry, and basic mason work.
  • Preferred experience in HVAC systems

Education and Certifications:

  • HS diploma or GED required, Technical or Vocation School, preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Be on your feet for 8-10 hours
  • Overtime availability
  • Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
  • Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
