About Zero Homes
Our mission is to rebuild American communities through healthy, affordable homes.
At Zero Homes, we operate on a simple premise: when you make contractors successful, homeowners win. The current home services industry is fragmented, complex, and opaque, which is frustrating for homeowners and exhausting for contractors. We are changing this by building a home upgrade marketplace that enables a simple, central, transparent process for homeowners and contractors to complete projects.
Through our platform we handle design, quoting, procurement, and customer service, allowing our contractor network to focus on what they do best and make them money: delivering projects. For homeowners, this delivers a predictable, high-quality, and transparent experience—transforming home upgrades from a source of anxiety into a seamless experience. Our vision is to create a world where homeowners and contractors in all 50 states can leverage our platform to execute thousands of projects every week within the next 36 months.
We work by a clear set of values:
Be a "can kid," not a "can’t kid": We own our outcomes and go to extraordinary lengths to solve problems.
Go fast, be clear: Speed is our advantage, and we sweat the details to deliver an extraordinary customer experience.
Customer & Contractor Obsessed: We have a deep, personal understanding of the work to be done. We stay curious about our contractors' craft and the stories of our homeowners.
Win, as a team: We are building an iconic business that will reinvent the industry, and will do so together.
If you are ready to build a world-class consumer experience that genuinely rebuilds American communities, come build with us.
About the Role & Your Impact
We are hiring a product leader to own what we build and how we build it, across every product surface at Zero Homes. You will take over the product responsibility from our CEO and report directly to him in Denver. You’ll work closely as a strategic partner to him and senior leadership to refine our product vision and deliver it by owning day-to-day execution. Over your first year, you will take over the full product roadmap from the CEO and work as a peer to Engineering, with Design reporting to you. You’ll have a real say in where the company goes and how it grows.
You will also build the people and process behind the product. You’ll start hands-on, writing specs and finding the gaps, while you lead and grow a team of existing product managers. You’ll establish a new planning rhythm the rest of the company can operate within and iterate this cadence as the product development landscape, tooling, and company evolves.
You’ll be the tastemaker of our product and will create a digital, but uniquely human experience that thoughtfully injects technology into contractor workflows and supercharges the work they deliver in homes.
If you’re successful, you’ll put an agentic house manager in the pocket of homeowners across the country. You’ll lower costs for millions of projects, enable homeowners to install climate-friendly upgrades, and make homes more comfortable and affordable. In addition, thousands of contractors across the country will deliver a digital yet human experience to homeowners as they upgrade and maintain homes. You’ll both make their lives easier and more profitable.
Who You Are
You are a direct, clear communicator who can explain a hard idea to an engineer, a designer, a salesperson, and a homeowner, and who can move from company vision to one specific feature in the same conversation. You are highly analytical, you form clear, well-argued opinions, and you stand behind them while staying open to being wrong. You have a tastemaker’s eye for consumer products and a high bar for how they feel. You would rather write the spec yourself than wait for a perfect brief, and you will do the unglamorous work yourself when it needs doing. You are comfortable building without a playbook and raising the bar for the people around you. You want to work in person with your team in Denver, spend time with homeowners and contractors, and see what your decisions do in the real world.
What You’ll Do
Product Strategy: Collaborate with the CEO and senior leaders on the product shape and roadmap
Hands-On Execution: Write specs, review flows, and fill gaps yourself in the first months so you learn the product and what the team needs.
Team Building: Hire, develop, and lead the product managers who report to you, and set the standard for how they work.
Planning System: Bring planning, vision, and roadmap execution into one rhythm, so engineering and design can see far enough ahead to do their best work. Rebuild the process where it falls short.
Product Metrics: Define how we measure product success across homeowners, contractors, and our own teams, and use those measures to decide what we build and what we cut.
Peer Partnership: Work alongside the Engineering and Design leaders so product direction reaches every team and debates end in decisions.
Customer Time: Spend time with your users, including homeowners and contractors, to build a product that solves real, important pain points.
